Iranian consumer price inflation increases 2.0% m/m
Point-to-point inflation for Shahrivar 1402 has shrunk by 0.3 percentage points relative to Mordad 1402.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Iranian households reached a significant milestone in Shahrivar 1402, highlighting the escalating inflation rates in the country.
In comparison to the preceding month of Mordad, the CPI experienced a 2.0% increase.
When set against Shahrivar of 1401, the rise is a substantial 39.5%. Over the twelve months culminating in Shahrivar 1402, the CPI has soared by 46.1% relative to the same period in the previous year.
Point-to-Point Inflation
Point-to-point inflation denotes the percentage variation in the CPI compared to the same month in the preceding year. For Shahrivar 1402, this rate was pegged at 39.5%. This implies that, on average, Iranian households expended 39.5% more than in Shahrivar 1401 for an equivalent set of commodities and services. Notably, the point-to-point inflation for Shahrivar 1402 has shrunk by 0.3 percentage points relative to Mordad 1402.
Monthly Inflation
Monthly inflation, representing the percentage alteration in the CPI relative to the month of Mordad, stood at 2.0% for Shahrivar 1402. Major categories such as "food, beverages, and tobacco" registered an inflation rate of 1.5%, while the "non-food commodities and services" segment witnessed a 2.3% inflation rate.
Annual Inflation Rate
The annual inflation rate, signifying the percentage change in the average CPI over a year ending in Shahrivar 1402 compared to the analogous period in 1401, touched 46.1%. This reflects a decline of 0.6 percentage points from Mordad 1402.
Inflation Fluctuations Across Expenditure Deciles
The national annual inflation rate for Shahrivar 1402 stands at 46.1%. The spectrum of inflationary changes for diverse expenditure deciles ranges from 45.9% for the sixth to ninth deciles to 46.6% for the tenth decile.
The inflationary gap between these deciles has contracted to 0.7 percentage points, a decrement of 1.1 percentage points from Mordad 1402.
